Well. There you have it. The 2016 US presidential election is now over. Whether you believe the outcome is a positive result or not, one thing remains clear: we are each still responsible for our own reactions going forward.
Each of us will have multiple opportunities today to either widen the divide or begin to heal the breach that has been steadily dividing our nation politically. Choose wisely. The outcome of that decision is still something each individual can control for themselves.
For those of us whose candidate won, may I say, a hearty “Congratulations! and may God bless you for your passionate battle. Please be gentle in your handling of this victory and be gracious in your going forward. Much depends upon you now.”
For those of us whose candidate lost, may I say a sincere, “God bless you for your passionate battle. Please be gentle in your handling of this result and be gracious in your going forward, as well. Much depends upon you now.”
For those of us who truly had no candidate who represented our positions and have watched this race unfold with both fascination and disbelief, may I say, “Thank you for your continued search and participation in the process. Please be intelligent in your continued analysis and measured in your response going forward. Much depends upon you now.”
Regardless of our choices from yesterday, each of us will move forward and much depends on us now. We are still Americans. We can still choose to be united. We still have the same opportunities to speak the truth in love and the same abilities to carefully choose our spoken responses as we ALL figure out how this is going to work. Will you continue in NO COMPLAIN NOVEMBER mode and will you go the extra mile and choose to make it easier on others around you to do so as well?
No matter which group you you identify with the most, it will take great discipline to finish out this challenge. It will take concerted effort. The best choices usually do. What will your choice be today?
With prayers for our nation and her people, I CHOOSE…
Grace and Peace! (and NO COMPLAINTS!)
